Trump extends golf course portfolio

Donald Trump, the man behind the controversial new golf course at the Menie Estate in Aberdeenshire, has added another two golf club’s to his portfolio.

Trump has purchased both New York’s 400-acre Branton Woods Golf Club and New Jersey’s 365-acre Pine Hill Course from Empire Golf for an undisclosed fee.

Branton Woods, rated one of the USA’s best courses, will, with immediate effect, be known as Trump National Golf Club – Hudson Valley. Meanwhile, Pine Hill, an award-winning course on Southern New Jersey’s highest point will be renamed Trump National Golf Club - Philadelphia.

The two courses cost in the region of $45million each to build and will now be operated as high-end ‘ultra-luxury’ private clubs.

“These two courses are each considered among the finest in the country and I am proud to add them to my growing list of clubs,” said Trump of the purchase. “Today, they would be virtually impossible to replicate from the standpoint of receiving governmental and environmental approval or from the standpoint of cost.”
